Your lawyer will charge the fee based on their experience and knowledge, not on your income.
Call around from your local phone book, and make a couple of appointments to discuss fees. You might be able to make payments if you put up a down payment to get the case started. In many cases the attorney can ask that the court award the cost of the attorney as part of the division of marital property.
Remember, you get what you pay for.

I think you’d better discuss your case with pro bono based (free of charge) attorney in your area before you move on the next steps. This is important because you may hear good advise from the one who specialized in the area.
Anyway, since they are free of charge, you have nothing to lose to consult your problem with them. Trust me, they are very good people, very professional and willing to help you all out.
I just searched on internet for you and found 2 websites that perhaps useful for you.
You may have the complete list of top pro bono attorneys in USA on http://www.criminalsattorney.info/index-3.html
Just visit the website as soon as possible to get help.
Another website that I also found for the complete list of law firms (lawyer) in USA can also be found on http://www.toplawfirms.us
You may even search law firm by state, in your area.
Have a great of luck!

Joe Finkle led you to the right website but look for the link to "Legal Assistance" http://www.okbar.org/public/services/service.htm
