What does it take to be a family services lawyer?
Ok so im 22 years old and ive been going through hell just to try and see my son, I have done nothing wrong but my sons mother feels that if I do not want to be with her then I cannot see my child. She wont even take my money for the baby so I just deposit it in a bank account for him. I have been really thinking of going to school but I do not know what profession I want to take. But I have been really considering being a family services lawyer to help fathers in my situation. Sometimes its not the dads fault but I believe that the legal system is this country is so messed up that the law favors women allot more than men even tho the mother is wrong. What to I have to do besides hard work and dedication to be a family services lawyer? What affordable law schools would you recommend?

First I commend you on trying to be part of your child’s life.
If you want to be lawyer practicing family law (not called family services) you will need to go to 4 year college or university, take the LSAT (law school aptitude test); get into an accredited law school. Three years or so of that. You’d then have to pass the state bar.
Affordable law schools? I don’t think such a creature exists. Unless you are willing to attempt to get scholarships and grants, the whole educational process is very expensive. Trust me, I know, I’m still paying for law school.
Your best bet at looking at less expensive law schools will be your state’s law school if they have one. But one step at a time – get into college first. There may be another avenue for you to pursue, such as a father’s rights advocate.
Good Luck.
