My sister is married to a defense attorning yeah i understand that this is his job and they need to make a house payment, BUT people are born with commen sence they should use it. He went to court and questioned my cousin in court against her while she was on the stand being grulled in court my sister( attorney’s wife) sat on the oppistie side while her cousin had to talk about a horrible crime to a close person in her life. my brother in law is helping out a murderer and trying to make it look like my cousin is a liar i dont really care that her husband is doing this but my sister , once my best friend, is being very defensive to her family i dont know why she cant see how this is wrong how do i explain this to a stubburn women yeah you should support your husband i get that but come on sitting on the side of the murderer of some one you dont know over your cousin balling her eyes out talking about a horrible crime knowing they are quitly . I can t just stay out of this any more she has excluded her whole family for pointless things and now this what do i do i want my sister in my life but how do we get pasted this!!! I NEED ADVICE PLEASEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a move away case, my kid is 13 and wants to live with me and the judge keeps making him stay with his father who never took care of him, this man grows dope and sells it, has no real job, has a convicted sex offender girlfriend and has no place to live in addition to being abusive, the judge say because I moved away my kid should stay in the county where we lived with this man, it makes no sense, I need some help any suggestions are appreciated, oh I have been representing myself and he has a lawyer so that makes it harder.

My Mother in law is abused by his husband since last 40 years. She is not financially independent and so she keeps on complaining about her problems to his son ( my husband ). They live in India and my mother in law wants to be here in USA and my father in law doesnt want to be in USA because we dont tolerate his behaviour. So, my mother in law emotionally narrates her strories to his son. Now, my husband is encouraging his Mother to live separate and he wants to pay for her survival like rent of a house, furniture, kitchen accessories, TV, Fridge, Microwave, Washer dryer etc. And also he wants to give some 300 USD every month for her living expence. By doing this she will get her home separate and then she can move back and forth between USA and India and we will be paying her travel, medical expence. I think if she want to live separate from her husband then she should take help of lawyer and should ask for support money. Her son or we family are not responsible for her maintaince.
We are expecting and we recently got new house. my job is new and i work hard to save money and my husband just thinks of his mother. i dont mind in helping her but there is always a limit. Our priority should be new baby, not his Mom. She is her husband’s responsibilty. If she is not happy, she should fight for her rights in court rather depending on our money.

My relative (female) is going through a divorce. She lives in California. She has no clue how to handle it as far as the procedures and things that she should look out for in terms of financial and getting the child support (2 small kids). Should she get a divorce lawyer? The main concern is she has no job and she worries not be able to afford to hire a lawyer. Please give some advice.

In Texas it is a 3rd degree felony. In Small Town, TX-USA 2 different lawyers have told me they will do NOTHING to him or her! She works for the Post Office which a felony would not be good and it would not go over well for him at his job either. HOW can I get someone to carry through the the Texas Family Law on bigamy here? I am sure he would sign decree then.

I been dealing with cps for 8 months. i just recently in court, the judge gave me a acd with supervision for 6months. i did everything they ask me to do. my lawyer told me that my name wouldnt be state registry, my child have not been taken away…so why do they still need to be in my life. How long should i even be in court if my child is with me and not them? Can I move out of state a leave this behind me? I dont what to do. I quit my job because of the embarassment that cps would go to my son daycare. I dont know who i piss off for someone to even call
cps. i cant afford my own lawyer, so i stuck with court appointed lawyer. i just dont know whats going on. my lawyer is keep teling me not to worry but yet in still i have to show again in court in june/2009. i dont trust any government agencies now. the only immediate family member is my 75 grandma. I dont what streak of luck im having and dont know who’s out to get med. but this very strange and scary at the same time. I mean if i was a bad parent they would have already taken my child away right? All I know I need to leave a start a new. I dont want to look for another job and damn sure dont need my son in a daycare.

I’m ending my soph. year of college this year and I REALLY want to go to law school and it has been my plan since the end of highschool. Then I wanted to be some sort of civil rights lawyer but now i’m moving towards crimminal deffense, civil law, family, dipute resaloution just like a general everyday lawyer. However today i read that lawyers are very unhappy. the biggest reason for premature death of lawyers is suicde. so here is my question
1. Are lawyers unhappy with their job and if so why?
I also wondered how you start your own practice. I think thats what i really ultimatly want to do. Has anyone done that? How did you do it? I think mabye working in a big firm for 5 years and then starting my own.

I am going to write this in my boyfriends point of view to make it easier understood.
I plan on getting a lawyer, but hoping this can help till I get in to see one. It’s been racking my brain.

SITUATION
About two weeks ago, my ex called me up and told me that she was going to drop my daughter off at DCF if I didn’t come and get her cause she no longer had a place to stay. I called my mother up (I am a truck driver and wouldn’t be back for about 4 more days) and asked her if she could go get my daughter. Well, my ex found money to bring her down and my mother gave her money to get back home (ex lives in Iowa, we live in Missouri). Well, my mother and step-father typed and printed out a temporary guardianship paper for my ex to sign. I have not seen it but it is so my mother and step father have temporary guardianship over my daughter and there is no date set for it to end. My ex signed it without reading it. My name is not on it. My ex and I were never married. I do pay child support, which was established in Illinois in 2003. There was no custody deal set up. The only thing that was set up was that neither of us could leave state with my daughter without permission from the other. Well, my ex did it anyway. Anyways, my mother seems to be pulling something squirrelly and I don’t know what it is. I went and got my daughters birth certificate, and she keeps trying to get it from me. She said that since she has temp custody, I can’t even get my daughter into school or take her to doctor cause she has custody, not me. I have been planning on fighting for my daughter for a while now, just been waiting to get out of the truck in order to do it. I am moving into my own place in a couple of days, and I am worried that my mother isn’t going to let me take my daughter.

QUESTIONS:
How legal is that temp guardianship thing that my mother had my ex sign?
Where am I on this whole deal?
If it is legal, how do I fight it?

My husband and I have been together for 4 years and married for 1 year next month. My husband has a 9 year old son with his ex-wife and since me and my husband have been together he has only seen his son 3 times. Their divorce decree states that he get every other weekend. Everytime he would call to come pick up his son, his ex-wife would give an excuse. (i.e He is busy right now playing monopoly with his friends) My husband would get disappointed everytime and we know we have to get a lawyer to even get her for contempt or court and we dont have that kind of money. So my husband simply gave up knowing that when his son grew older that he would be able to explain why he was never around. Now what makes my husband and I upset is that he pays 8.00/mo with a 7.00/hour job in which he has recently put in a request to lower that but point is we r paying for a child that we dont even see so its more like a debt or fine, but recently we seen his ex-wife and son in the grocery store and she comes up and talks to him and they agree on letting my husband get his son for the weekend after valentines day weekend……so we exchange #’s. but the next night we get a call from her and shes crying to my husband telling him to come back to him and that she misses him and if he doesnt she’ll kill herself and so we just brush it off bc she was drunk and we thought she’d b over it soon. The next day she calls asking him to come over and bring her medicine and my husband blows her off but later she has his son call and have him go pick up his son to go get v-day cards for school. When we drop him off at home he gives my husband a letter that we find out his ex-wife wrote him and how she loves him and how having sex with him felt and a real detailed letter which makes me mad and its comin2 me that maybe she didnt let my hubby c his son bc she is obsessed with him and she constantly has his son call and ask for him to come over and visit him which all of a sudden has just started since wrote him that letter…? is——-#1 do i have a right to be mad? #2 what can i legally do to stop this? #3 How do i handle this?, if for one…I dont want to come between my husband and his son since now he’s getting to see and hear from him often

My sister left her children with me and moved to South Carolina, November of 2008. She quit her job in N J at the airport to be with a gang member and drug dealer from NJ. She was let go from her job in SC and decided to file for food stamps and section 8 and included the children while I was claiming them in NJ. I believe she want them back to take care of her and her man. He doesn’t work either. I went to court and received joint legal custody and residential custody. Can you just come and take them even though they don’t want to go. The lawyer who is taking care of her warrant and moving violations is telling her I only have residential custody and they are going to file for residential custody to get the children back. What can I do?
