Here’s the thing. I wanna go to law school. I’m a junior in college right now. I want to be a family law lawyer – still debating the aspect but i’m leaning towards divorce. Would I need to get a LL.M degree for that, or would a JD be sufficient? And if I did have to get a LL.M degree how much longer would that take than doing the standard JD?

Also, I haven’t taken my LSAT’s yet. Should I do that soon, or when I’m a senior? And I’m double majoring in English and Poli Sci and my GPA is at about a 3.5 or 3.6, what else should I do to better my chances of getting into a decent law school?

A Family Law Lawyer….Dealing with divorce, child custody and et. What makes them want to do it pro bono?

I was just wondering if there were any law schools around Ocala, Florida. I know University of Florida has a law school but I know there is no way for me to get accepted there. Or is there an online Law school that is very good and not a scam? I just really would like to become a family law lawyer and I’m not too sure how to, living where the local colleges don’t offer anything close to that. Well Thank yous!!!

I don’t understand. Lets say divorcing parents hire 2 different lawyers. One hires an expensive family law lawyer and the other hires a cheaper (legal aid?) lawyer. But both lawyers are into family law. So why would the more expensive lawyer be better that the other one? Or let’s not take the price into consideration. How can one lawyer be better than the other if they both work with "family law"?

I am in NH, and need a lawyer, a Family Law Lawyer. I don’t have a lot of $ to spend, so I called a firm that charges on a sliding scale. I don’t want to get "sliding" representation though, you know? How can I find info out on him, and his record in court?

I’m wondering if anyone out there in the Maine area has any experience with Family law lawyers (child visitation/custody)I’m curious if any of you have an estimate on how much it is to hire a family law lawyer in Maine? I’m in Washington State. We have an issue with my fiance’s little girl who resides in Maine with her mother. My faince is looking to start up a parenting plan.
