"It's a Wonderful Life", what would a modern day version be like?

Could it even be based on a married couple since that really wouldn’t reflect modern society? Would it be more accurate and PC to focus a single parent without the father mentioned.

I couldn’t help thinking that if it was remade into a modern version near the end when George Bailey was overcome by stress and emotions and yelled at his wife and kids and flipped a table over, how would that play out today?

Would modern day Mary go to bat for her husband George? I couldn’t help thinking instead of helping her husband George Bailey by rallying the whole town, Modern Mary would roll over on him and have him arrested. The later part of the movie would center around George’s domestic violence arrest. George’s angel wouldn’t be an old clockmaker, he have to be a good family law lawyer.

I guess it would end in a divorce and nasty custody battle. Maybe the happy ending would be that the Judge didn’t renew Modern Mary’s request for a 4th protection order and George was able to see his kids for the first time in a year.

Pretty sad but accurate for a lot of guys. How do you think a modern remake would look?
******* Baba Yaga ****

Why is that bitter or some victim statement?

Seriously, I was just trying to accurately try to think of how it could play out. I was considering Rosie O’donnel playing a modern George Bailey.

You seem to have taken offense to a question that shouldn’t have offended anyone unless for some reason you somehow relate to this.
******** ♥The Mrs.♥ ********

The character that made up George Bailey wasn’t perfect, he had flaws. He would not have never fit into how all the expert therapists we seen in the media tells, the perfect person should act.

Clearly, any women’s advocate would have strongly advised Mary to leave George. That couldn’t have been the only time he came home stressed out.

Years ago, a guy was just a human being. He smiled when happy and expressed anger when stressed either raising his voice or throwing something. Today, a man is deemed abusive and to violent to be near his wife and kids if he dare express any of these human emotions. The belief by Women’s Advocates being he will probably kill his wife.

It’s not a rant, it’s just a question with some details. Nothing more.

need help bad! question about family law?

so here is the deak… my girlfriend is going through a rough divorce. and now her soon to be ex husband is trying to use facebook communications between her and i to say that she had been seeing me before the divorce had been intiated and to try and say that i would endanger the well being of her daughter…. yes there is a custody battle… she and i and her lawyer think that this is a tactic to take the focus of his raging alcohol abuse issue. can this be used against her in court and would the judge even it allow it in court?
here is the thing… she and i didnt meet until dec 1 2008 and she was legally separated nov 8th 2008…. from that time her divorce was well on its way…. outside of that she and hang out on the weekends when she is with her father and when she is with her she and i and the baby go to church and we may go to the park and play…. there is absolutly nothing that he could use against me or her…. right?
i do know and have seen documents that show he has been sent away by court order to rehab for alcohol abuse and we have been going to his house on thursdays..( trash days ) and going through the trash( per her lawyers advice) and we have consistently found between a case and three cases of beer per week.

Need some legal guidance regarding a child custody battle in Southern California?

I am trying to gain some insight for a friend of mine. She lives in Southern California, and is going through a divorce & custody battle involving her young daughter. Her soon to be ex is a multiple ex-con felon involving drugs. He constructively abandoned her when he went to jail and was gone for over a year this last time. His interest in his daughter is minimal, but HIS folks ARE interested in their grandaughter, and are fighting for visitation rights through their son. He usually just picks up his daughter and drops them off at his folks for the weekend, and does this every other weekend. But now, since attorneys are involved, the grandparents want to ensure the grandaughter doesn’t move away, and are stipulating she cannot move any further away than an adjecent county. The mother is using the services of an inexpensive attorney, and he is saying there isn’t anything he can do about it. The mother may want to move furtheraway some day. Is the mother stuck?Or can she fight?

Single moms in southern CA, how on EARTH do you make ends meet?

I have 3 very small children. I have a lot on my plate besides being a mom, a single mom at that. I live with my mom and step-dad while I have been going through a divorce and custody battle. My mom has been letting me stay here but my divorce just isn’t ending and now my lawyer has dropped me because I can’t afford to pay her. I get very little support from thier dad and I have no degree. I have to move because the amount of stress it is causing everyone for me to stay with my mom is unbarable for everyone including my kids. My step-dad does not want us there. The problem it is very hard to hold a job with three kids and with the amount of money I make, 99% of it goes to daycare. I cant get assistance because I receive some support though not nearly enough. How do women do it on their own with no help (my parents are moving out of state) in southern California (I do have to stay in Southern
