How do I take money out of a bank account and hide it before a divorce?

I have accumulated a nice amount of assets simply by saving and investing. Some of it before I got married, some while married. Now I want to divorce but don’t want her to get half of the funds. We have a joint account that has a little bit of money that I don’t mind splitting with her, but my personal funds I want to hide. There are obviously records of what is in there today, and will be records of any withdrawals I make between now and the divorce. I was thinking about withdrawing the funds, purchasing gold or high valued coins, and storing them in a safety deposit box listed in my mother’s name. During the divorce will I be held accountable for funds that were once in my personal account but are now gone? Does anyone have a better idea on how to move the funds out of my accounts and out of the site of the divorce laywers? PS – she doesn’t know I am planning on divorcing her yet. I want to figure out this money thing first. Please help.

Discover How Assets Should Be Shared Using State Family Law

Discover How Assets Should Be Shared Using State Family Law

An effective divorce lawyer will help you identify and establish the value of assets along with securing your best interest. It is always better if you and your spouse can reach an agreement on how all things should be separated. When you can’t, the decision is left to the judge in most states. Divorce courts handle all types of possessions including frequent flyer miles, primary residences, vacation homes, pensions, family pets, family businesses, and numerous others. When the couple can’t reach an agreement, it is ordinarily out of pain and they are just fighting to see who gets the final word. In these situations, a mediator may be invited to come in to mediate for you in working together and finding an equitable solution.

Marital property is known as any property or debt that was acquired during the marriage. This includes any equity or losses. Separate assets consists of property owned before marriage including presents or inheritances that were received as an individual. Individual property should be detailed in a prenuptial agreement that will keep it secured regardless of the circumstances of the marriage.

Property arrangements are typically resolved by you both. If you reach an agreement you will sign a legal certificate called a marital settlement agreement. If not the superior court will grant the property within the decree of divorce. If the two of you cannot agree to a settlement, the court has specific processes it follows to divide the assets. Discovery process is used to determine what assets and debts are part of the marriage. A monetary value will then be allocated to each asset and debt. You should know that state family law includes equitable distribution for assets. Equitable distribution means the judge uses certain factors to judge how the property will be split fairly and not necessarily equally. These types of factors include personal income, age, and who is responsible for the children.

To ensure a proper settlement and in order for your lawyer to be most helpful, you need to know all your investments and whether they are marital or separate. Getting this data for your attorney will make their job simpler and they can focus on more critical things such as filing all the documents and determining what to do if the other party contests the division of assets. It is best to try to settle with your spouse so you can both get things you want or be compensated how you see fit. If not a judge will do this for you and the results might be devastating.

Inheritance Law Who is a really good lawyer for a difficult case.?

A friend has an unusual inheritance problem in Argentina. His wife was Argentine and died. Her father died a few years earlier and the mother is still alive, but probably not for long. The man had two children, my friends wife and a son. Each of those produced ONE grandchild. Suspicious people feel the son is trying to get and hide the fathers wealth. Everyone in that family are very secretive about money, except to say they do not have one peso. The father who died could have left nothing more than a home, and his son says unpaid taxes make this expensive home worthless. The dead father claimed he "lost" two big businesses when Peron and his latest wife came back to Argentina and ruined the economy. The father has no will. Friend needs to know if his daughter should have an inheritance and exactly what assets there are. This must be done without cooperation of the dead father’s wife, nor of the son. There may be other people or records that could be helpful. Is this work for a lawyer?
