I have full custody of my grandson. My daughter has 4 hours visitation each week. Access is final so is custody. Each time I plan a holiday we have to cancel based on her visitation rights…up until recently she barely shows up for her visits. I informed her in January we were planning a trip to Euope this summer. I offered to pay her way & bring her along & she declined on 3 seperate occassions. I have now invited another family member to join us. Up untill recently she stated everything was ok & that she would not interfere with us going away. As things began to move closer & she knew I had to get his passport she disappeared thinking I needed her consent to get it! I called our lawyer & had him do a letter for us as she is homeless & I could not contact her. I have the passport. Now there is an issue with how long we will be gone…this vacation is an extended vacation as we will only get to do this once I’m sure & we want to make the most of it. As the custodial parent having the child for 10 years do I have any rights at all? This is tearing our whole family apart as my daughter is constantly creating issues, not just for me but everyone as what she does affects everyone. It is like an emotional dance of blackmail that she will not give up on. Please help!

I want to become a laywer, and just need some tips and advice on what i should do: what’s the best school to go to, how should i prep for my lsats, and do you have to finish up at a 4 year university to go, or can u by pass all that lol.

Just need some tips and tricks on pre law and becoming a lawyer. Like what classes should i take, whats the best major for it, and how long does it usually take to become one. Any assistance with this is more than appreciated.

I am needing a free or low cost family law attorney in the Houston area. I have physical custody of my sisters son (7) & we are suing her ex (his dad) for child support. He is hiding from being served & refuses to pay or even come to court. Whenever we have spoken to him he always threatens us with getting visitation. We are VERY fearful that he will get visits & he has MULTIPLE felonies & has been in prison twice. I need help because we need him to help financially support his son? I know what you’re thinking, he has a right to see his son, but he is dangerous & its not in his sons best interest?

I have 3 year old twins. I have placement m-f and their dad has them sat & sunday every weekend. When we went to court he was told he cannot be under the influance of any illegal drugs or alcohol while the children are in his care. and he needed to attend anger management and AODA assessment. None of which he has done (to my knowledge) One day in January after dropping the twins off with me he was stopped on the freeway for doing 15 over and the cop smelled marijuana and discovered he had 7.7 grams of pot in his car. Can I get him for contempt? (especially for the marijuana)

Simple issue. Ex on drugs. Filed for restraining order to restrict his contact with baby till he proved he was clean. Did mediation and the mediator also stated she felt my child should only have proffessionally supervised visitation until he could prove a minimum of 90 days clean with hair test. Sounds pretty black & white, right? 5 court appearances later, with Ex making random false accusations about me, avoiding the drug test, and drug assessment requested by the judge, providing not a shred of evidence to validate his accusations and drags case on for 11 months. With each appearance my attorney charged over 0.00 and not once did he simply stand up and say……..Judge, the respondants accusations are not relevant and he hasn’t provided the clean test. He just let it drag on, till the well ran dry. Now, 2 wks b4 trial, he bails, saying he has other cases that will pay him and he doesn’t want to waste any more time on mine. He refuses to even verbally advise me. Can he do that???

I’m thinking about going to law school after I graduate. I will gradutate from college in May(I’ll be barely 22) then would go directly to law school & graduate from there when I’m around 25. I’m conflicted about when I would start a family if I did this. I plan on getting married after college and would likely not start a family until after law school. I know that the first few years after law school are tough; however, I’m not planning on being a big time lawyer or even a trial lawyer. I’m interested in the behind-the-scenes research area & would likely work at a business or small firm near where I live. So even though it would still be tough it won’t be quite as cut throat as what I’ve been hearing major firms in NYC are like LOL. Do you think it is possible to have a family a few years after law school? My question is mainly for lawyers or people with direct experience not second hand info about someone who did something and it was hard

Can my wife stop me taking my children to my parents house, if that house is a farm and if one of the occupants has been convicted of manslaughter? The farm equipment is in lockable barns and I would not let them wander unaccompanied anyway and this person was released and has proven records that he is not a danger to anyone. She will also not allow me to take them anywhere in my car, because I smoke, but I have told her I will not smoke in the car and will clean it before I take them any where. She is setting restrictions to my seeing the children (3 boys aged 1,3 & 5). She has said that she wont stop me ever seeing them, but only on her terms. What can I do? I live in The UK, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know if there are statue of limitations for filing a order for contempt in a child custody agreement. My daughter’s father & I have a custody agreement where he gets her one week day & every other weekend. Well he is a deadbeat who barely sees her so his mother & grandmother have been using his visits. Last summer his mother picked her up from me one weekend & when it was time to return her she would not return her. It was a big mess I had to contact the police who directed me to a detective. The detective had me go down to the courthouse to get my court order & fax it over it her. The whole process took 3 days & the detective finally contacted his mother & informed her if she didn’t return my daugther within 48 hours there would be a warrant out for her arrest for kidnapping. His mother told the detective that my mother had put me out & that I was homeless & all this other false information. Anyway I finally got her back. I don’t have alot of money to get a lawyer but I want her punished for what she did. Is there anything I can do. It was around this time last year.I’ve saved all the threatening text messages she sent me. Any information would be greatly appreciated thank you.

But now, since attorneys are involved, the grandparents want to ensure the grandaughter doesn’t move away, and are stipulating she cannot move any further away than an adjecent county. The mother is using the services of an inexpensive attorney, and he is saying there isn’t anything he can do about it. The mother may want to move furtheraway some day. Is the mother stuck?Or can she fight?
