His lawyer said they had a deal with the prosecutors for only one year, of which he could spend on probation. When the judge gave him 6 years for his first ever problem with the law, his lawyer told him that the prosecutor lied. This was a making of meth charge, and it was his wife who made the meth. She was the addict, not Milt. She got 3 years from the same judge because he felt sorry for her. She had a terrible upbringing, etc. Milt and she had only been married a year when this went down. She actually had him convinced that she had Lupus and the only way she could get through her days was with Meth. This man, even though a prison gaurd, knew nothing about Meth. He believed for a whole year that when he took her to the doctors office she was being helped, while she would run out the back door and go to her dealers. This is a May/December romance, Milt being 20 years older, and no match for an addicts many cons. When we tried to tell him there was something wrong with her he would say she had a terrible upbringing and an abusive husband, blah, blah, blah. She has a 14 year old daughter that Milt wanted to be able to come live with them so that they could be a family, but this woman didn’t want her. Milt, the judge, the lawyer and the P’s were all conned. Does Milt have any recourse from doing what his lawyer told him to and then being railroaded? He doesn’t do Meth, or drugs of any kind, he just fell, (Mid-life Crisis?) for the wrong woman. His two children, ages 21 and 23 are just heartsick, everyone who knows and loves him is.

Issue: My Grandpa sold my Mother his property for so he wouldn’t have to get a will. He has 3 other living children and he mentioned he only trusted my Mother. Now he is mad at her? So he got one of her sisters to start helping him out and she started telling him she heard my Mother wants to sell his property (even though he still lives on it)- this is UNtrue and no basis. My aunt just wants to own it because she intends to sell it herself (no proof).

My Aunt and him got a lawyer to sue my Mother so she can return the property. She purchased this property from him.

The basis for the lawyer filing it, is that my Aunt got my Grandpa to say that my Mother told him that he was medically incapable of making decisions (she did not), She also got him to say he doesn’t speak english. He is fluent in english and speaks very little spanish. He is very stubborn and ignores people and when he wants to ignore them more he pretends not to know english.

He is NOT fluent in spanish and neither are any of his kids.

They are suing to have my Mom return the property on the basis that she "tricked" him into selling it to her.

None of it is true, my Grandpa really has lost some sense of reality over the years. My aunt has only recently since he has been sick started to help him out. She’s the one pushing to find out about a will and his property.

What can my Mom do? What can she expect? (she is in the process of looking for an attorney) The original attorney that was involved says that my Grandpa speaks fluent English and he was willing and able to sell it at the time over 3 years ago.

My parents had split up 3 years ago after 18 yrs of marriage. My dad moved out the same night after an argument. 1 year later, my dad hands my mother a document stating thats the divorce paper. Yet again, she had never gone to a court, nor received any kind of documents by mail, nor signed ANY kind of document before. We went to several courts, but they all say that we ahve to go to a lawyer. Each lawyer that i call wants to charge me. How to find out?

We have been living separately for 3 years now and I would like to file for divorce here in Canada. I have been researching and I could not find anything. I just need to know where to go, who exactly to talk to and steps I need to take.

One of the 2 requirements to apply for citinzenship is have 3 years with a Green Card and remain married with an US citizen. I fall in that category, by my quesiton is after applying for Citizenship…starting the divorce paperwork…That won’t affect my application with inmigration?
I checked USCIS already is nothing there…

My husband filed for divorce almost 3 years ago and we have been to the divorce master. Our pretrial conference is set for Jan 21, and now my husband says he’s withdrawing the divorce and stopping it. Can he do that? My lawyer is out of town til 15th. Thanks!

Well i am 16 turniing 17 in October and I live in Southern California. I am responsible for myself and just want to be independent already. I am tired of living in California and I want to move to Nevada. My mother cannot because she is getting divorced and since my brother is still young they don’t let her move. Through my whole life ive been pretty unhappy; My family was never really a family because we never went out together or did normal things a typical family does and well that has kind of traumatized me. I am also tired of being told what to do and it makes me feel trapped and imprisoned and i can’t take it anymore. I was so unhappy i tried to kill myself two weeks ago but after than I realized that is not a solution to my problems. I know my mom loves me but I am simply not happy anymore. I also have a boyfriend that I have been with for over 3 years and since I tried to kill myself she is trying to separate both of us and won’t let me see him; she say I have to wait until I am 18. I see no difference I mean what’s the difference between now and 18? She says I can be with him just not see him. So i’m really tired of this because I just want to be happy and independent; make my own money, buy my own things ect. So how can I get emancipated and move to a different state because this is confusing me.

Im thinking about career options and in the U.S to become a lawyer specifically a Family Lawyer (divorce, marriage contracts, child custudy, will and estate planning. etc) you have to go to a 4 year unniversity and then 3 years of law school. What type of schooling after high school do you have to do to become a lawyer in Canada? Any information will be very helpful. Thanks =)
Also how do you get a law degree?? like what do i have to do right after high school if i want my Lawyer career.

My child’s (age 2.5) father has done very upsetting things to me and my family for the past 3 years and I feel that I am getting sicker and sicker from it physically and mentally. The courts and lawyers say they can’t (or won’t) help me protect my kids from the things that he does, and I just want him to stop once and for all. For example, he gave my son ( age 14 & from a previous marriage) a cd that he downloaded from the internet, without letting me know or asking my permission. The cd contained racial hate songs on it. When I found out I was furious and asked why he would give him such a thing and he said, "oh lighten up, you always make a big deal out of nothing". Another time he made our daughter get a second set of vacines she didn’t need claiming he was never told that she was up to date. But he was told, not only by me, but by the pediatrician, and her shot records. Bottom line, he gets away with it because I can’t find a lawyer who’s willing to help me put a stop to it.

I am divorced for 3 years. my ex and I have joint legal joint physical custody. he has them through the school year and lives 100 miles away. for the past 2 years he has had our 8 yr old on ADHD meds and i knew absolutely nothing about it. I want to take him to court but I do not have the money to do it!! I need some help desperately with this situation!!
the reason I have no money to fight it……I pay him a ton in child support!!! I just need someone to tell him how to get him to inforce our divorce judgement. Or to get some help for our 8 yr old who has extreme behavior issues. I don’t know where to start.
