Poll: How does one go about finding a competent divorce lawyer?
I suppose most go on recommendations, but I am not originally from this area and I have few friends here. I know nothing of the reputations of divorce attorneys around here.
Where do I start?
Also…how much is a consultation (ballpark)?

ask your friends, but before you make your decision, go down to their office and ask for references from the lawyer. i.e. their statistics of winning, settling, research them.
