I have 3 year old twins. I have placement m-f and their dad has them sat & sunday every weekend. When we went to court he was told he cannot be under the influance of any illegal drugs or alcohol while the children are in his care. and he needed to attend anger management and AODA assessment. None of which he has done (to my knowledge) One day in January after dropping the twins off with me he was stopped on the freeway for doing 15 over and the cop smelled marijuana and discovered he had 7.7 grams of pot in his car. Can I get him for contempt? (especially for the marijuana)

I create daily reports for family law lawyers to track prospective clients in specific state (e.x. report contains links to forum messages from people looking for help in family law matters related to California or other specific U.S. State). I would like to start my own startup business providing lawyers in all U.S. states with this kind of reports, but I am not sure if this service is in demand by lawyers.

Do you think this kind of business will succeed? Are there any common types of firms providing leads for lawyers?

My former wife will buy our matrimonial home from me as part of our separation, based on our separation agreement. we already have a signed separation agreement so our family law lawyers are no longer involved.
Should I pay a lawyer to complete the transaction or should I save my money for other things?
Basically, what we will do within a week is:
- Remove my name from the title
- Remove my name from the mortgage
- She will pay me an equalization amount

ALL of the above is exactly in line with the agreement. My question is: is it important that I have a lawyer representing me for this last step or not really (as long as I read everything carefully of course to ensure it’s in line with the agreement)??

I asked a family member who recently graduated from law school to review and negotiate a contract for me. She did so. She has not taken the bar exam in her state nor in my state, I signed this contract thinking she was already an attorney simply because she graduated from law school, but now I find out she’s not fully an attorney yet.

The law regarding this type of contract states that a attorney is to review it on my behalf, and now the other parties to this contract are refusing to invalidate the contract.

Is she allowed to give me legal advice and help negotiate a contract for me although she may not fully be a lawyer and is that contract valid, now that it has been signed, etc. Or is it no longer enforceable.

ok I wanted to know if you can terminate a fathers rights if is in jail? I have 2 kids that my husband wants to adopt, and looking on the internet i know you are suppose to get the biological fathers consent, thus, I have had no contact with the biological father for over 4 years, and he has had no contact with my children as well. S o with this also in mind. My kids do not no their biological father . they believe my husband "that i recently married and been w/for 7 yrs" is there only DAD.
So if i can terminate his rights how do I go about this process on my own without a lawyer, Since money is crucial right now since my husband is in his last year of medical school and we have 5 kids all together thats:including my 2 kids i brought into the relationship" oh I hope I can get any help there is. Oh and I live in the state of Illinois.

When my son was an infant,there was a dna test done because his father didnt sign papers claiming paternity. We had to go to the child support office in the courthouse where a woman told us that we had to do custody 50/50,and that we had to make up a schedule or the courts would do it for us. That was really all that was said…..? I don’t remember signing anything agreeing to anything or saying i would do anything…and if i did i dont have any paperwork stating so. We never went in front of a judge, no paperwork was signed (if any is usually done). What makes 50/50 custody legal? There was nothing said about joint physical custody,joint legal custody and so on…..?What I’ve said is actually ALL that was said/done about it, is this something set in stone..legal? My sons father is mad at me for deciding to collect child support for the first time in 4 years now saying i cant take him to texas in feb. can i just take him?When he has no proof that he is even supposed to be with him?help

Mother of 2,I reside in ohio my kids in las vegas with my ex whom i never married. I decided to keep the kids toghther for finacial reasons until i was on my feet again to do custody. My son is not my exes he has legal guardianship,my daughter is ours. There has not been any custody as of yet. "We just agreed". It has changed,he controls everything and i have been to visit,he does not let our kids see their mother and i call all the time i barley get to talk to them just when the dad feels like it. My only fault here was being broke,not working as a house mom when being with him,trying to get out of a rut now. I am a divorcing father. I have a wonderful 8-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, my x-wife is evil and has falsely accused me of abuse, molestation, and other nasty things. I have been found not-guilty of all things but the accusations continue and, after 2-years, I am still in divorce court and still not allowed to see my daughter without supervision. I have spent ,000 for one lawyer and now dumping ,000 into a trial lawyer. My x-wife has been playing the court system all the way. Why doesn’t the judge see the malicious behavior that is going on? I went through moderation, a CPS investigation, a psychological evaluation, 8-4 hour sessions under parewntal supervision with my daughter and I have passed all tests with flying colors. Yet I still can’t see my daughter because my x-wife fired her first attorney when the psychological evaluation stated I should have 1/2 physical custody. She fires him and gets a new lawyer which has led to a trial and another 6 months of delays. A joke!

i am looking for a good family law attorney for macon ga, some one to nail my exhusband so he will quit taking me to court every six months for nick pick things… i have let him just have his way.. i didnt have the money for a lawyer for divorce i just signed he got house i got what my family gave me thats it.. …he got the goldmine i got the shaft.. we changed child support and then again i let him have what he wanted so he would just "leave me alone.". that backfired.. so now its my turn for the goldmine and he needs the shaft.. any suggestions would be greatly helped..
