Need advice on what kind of attorney to visit in regards to divorce law and property division?
My parents divorced around 16 years ago and at the time of the divorce the divorce decree states that the house is to be divided at the time of my younger sibling’s high school graduation (1 year from now). What is to be split is the appreciation of the house between the divorce date until the graduation. Currently, one of my parents is trying to push for this split, which would ultimately lead to my other parent losing the house. I would like to have a consultation with a lawyer/attorney, but I am really not sure where to begin. Would it be better to go through the county or find an attorney who specializes in this area (and if so, what type of attorney or law firm)? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

You need an attorney who specializes in family law.
This sounds like a deal was made a long time ago and now someone wants to welch on the deal they made.
To me it sounds like it was a sweet deal for whoever stayed living in the house.
