I’m 14 and I want to move..Like to a different city. Is this a stupid idea and should I forget about it????
so i’m 14 and a freshman in high school. for about like 3 years i’ve wanted to move to southern california. i live in northern california right now in a nice city but i’m getting sick of it and i hate the weather here because it’s always foggy.
but the thing is i’ve never even been to southern california. i think it’s because like everyone i know wants to go to southern california in college and because of shows like laguna beach and the hills.
the reason i want to is because i want to start all over and i don’t really care if i’d leave my friends..so i’d like to move ANYWHERE but southern california sounds so nice. i just want to live somewhere warm. and i like california.
and i know, it’s not my decision but my parents’. but my parents might get divorced and my mom said she wants to move out with me. and i was like, "can we go somewhere far?" and i was like what about southern california. and she asked me why and i said because the weather is nicer.
i just want to start all over SOO bad and i’m so sick of this city. do you think this is a really stupid idea? what do you think of this? i want to go to college somewhere in southern california anyway.

i think it’s kinda lame that you’d want to move somewhere because of weather….if it was up to me i’d go to NYC since H-town isn’t really the best.
but if your mom wants to join you to SoCal go for it. and anyway, you’d have enough time to get familiar with the surroundings before you go to college:)

Haha your lucky you don’t live in Alaska.
Its 27 degrees right now and the sun sets at 4 pm everyday.
Be grateful for where you live. I’d kill to live anywhere in California right now(:

wowww. i wish i had your problem…i am a 14yr.old and a freshmen aswell. i am moving about a thousand miles away from where i live now. this will be my 18th time and i dont want to start over..i say you should start new things to excite your life and make new friends that you would’nt want to leave. I havn’t had a good friend for more than 2 years so if you have a best friend keep and enjoy him/her while you still are around eachother.
and about the college thing, it might be better to go to college where you arent soo close to your parents..it might be good to have the experience of going away from what your used to…good practice for later on
.lol

I feel exactly the same way. I don’t have good enough friends for me to really miss them too much. I’m also just bored of where i live. And the weather sucks here. I can totally relate to you. I say go for it! What have you got to lose? If you have the opportunity to move then do it.

the grass isn’t greener on the other side.
sure, there is something magical about so cal, but you’ll still have to deal with issues (it’s expensive, crowded, traffic, smog, crime, etc.)
well, i would personally recommend going to college about two-three hours drive away from your parents. you have four years for your college tours and stuff so you can work that out later, but i wouldn’t want to be too close or too far away from your parents.
even if you are sick of the city you are in now, i bet that’ll you’ll miss it (even if you really like the new place). there will still be jerks at school, you won’t know anythign about the area and won’t be able to see your friends from middle school.
i guess i would tell ur mom that you won’t mind being somewhere warmer, but you’ll support her no matter where she wants to go. she’s getting divorced, i bet she’s sad and that’ll make her feel better.
