How to obtain family law pro bono work, for custody of my daughter.?
My brother’s illegal Mexican wife will not allow him to see his own daughter, and this is killing him, he doesn’t have enough money to hire a lawyer so i was wondering how i can obtain pro bono work to make this happen.

Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask them for names of attorneys that handle family law – pro bono. ALSO: Ask them for the phonenumber of your local LegalAid office.
The sooner your brother does this – the better.
Good luck.

If his name is on the birth certificate he can go right down to the court house and fill the papers out himself. Then just explain "X Y Z" to the judge. Good Luck!

what does it matter that she is illegal and mexican? the general issue is that she is denying your brother visitation. He more than likely is 1. not being responsible for the child financially 2. For all we know your brother is an abusive psychopath and she’s seeing for the best interest of the child. if he is proven to be abusive in court there are special rules that a judge must follow in the state of california that state that an abusive person cannot have custody until they have completed batterre’s program and X Y AND Z…….

I found a website with complete list of pro bono attorney (not lawyer). However, perhaps this website could be beneficial to you >> http://criminalsattorney.info/998809-Complete-Listing-of-Pro-Bono-Criminal-Attorneys-in-USA.html

No legal aid attorneys would have the necessary experience for international law. As for a possible reference, call Attorney Jeffery Leving in Chicago.
