How do I go about divorcing a woman I cannot locate?
I was married in 2001 and separated in 2004. I have not spoken to my wife in 5 years and have no idea where she is but I have a hunch she is still in southern California where I reside. I cannot afford a lawyer I was barely able to afford filing fees to file the original divorce paperwork. I ran an ad in the city newspaper where I believe she lived and heard nothing back. I paid and wasted my money on a few different people search websites all that came up was old addresses and phone numbers that I already knew were no good. I emailed her last known email address on more than one occasion and got no response back. I even looked her up on MySpace. She has very few relatives and the ones I do know are dead or just as hard to find as her. What can I do to find her and get this divorce over and done with?????
How much does a divorce lawyer charge in the Albany NY area?
I want to get a price figure just an estimate of how much it would cost me to divorce. Trying to get a number so i can sort of get to the idea of how much to expect to pay.
Who would you most like to track down from your past?
I’d like to find my 5th grade girlfriend from the late 80s who moved to Southern California with her dad when her parents got divorced.
What is your divorce lawyer supposed to do for you?
I seem to be speaking a different languange than my divorce lawyer. I have broken it down into very simple terms that I want from my ex-husband. Still…I have not seen a financial affidavit from him nor do I agree with any of the settlement proposal so far……how do I know what is "just the law" and I am stuck with it and what might be that my divorce attorney just doesnt agree with me. My gut feeling is that he is used to settling very expensive corporate cases and we are just small peanuts to him so its not that important. What do you think?
Isn’t It Disturbing That The Divorce Rate Is So High Among Christians?
The US Census Reports and US National Divorce Statistics at present show that Christians in particular the evangelical and southern baptist sects have the highest rate. It is even HIGHER than couples professiing no relgious affiliation or to be atheist. Even more surprising its the conservative RED state- Texas and not California, New York or even Nevada that is the LEADING divorce state in the USA. How come?
This is my theory….
(1) The "no sex before marriage" thing is making young people marry too soon and too young to the first person they fall in love with. They cannot date around nor discover if they are sexually compatible first.
(2) Today when folks discover the marriage was a mistake, they are NOT going to stick it out like our grand parents used to. My grandmother stayed with a TERRIBLE abusive husband for 50 years until she died of cancer. Women today expect more out of life.
(3) So called "ex-gay" Christians can’t stick it out either.
What’s your theories folks?
I Need a Family Law Lawyer In the Seattle Area?
Wow, ok, so my case is easy, but my finances are low. I need some one to ensure that all my court documents are correct, and I am not missing anything.
My Case: Well my child support is being modified by the state. I have 1 child that I am paying for, which is the child in question. My support is going up about 300 extra dollars a month, and I can’t afford that. I have 2 other children that I support, from my current marriage. My wife just got off bed rest, so I am the only one with the income. I seen a lawyer today, and she ran some numbers, and it looks like it would be about 240 a month. I can manage that. I just can’t afford her services, and there is so much paperwork, I don’t know what to do.
Is there anyone in my area that can help with paperwork. I can pay by the hour, but I can’t afford 00 up front. I don’t need to be represented in court. I just want to make sure everything is filled out correctly, and nothing is left out. I don’t want my proposal to be thrown out because of one little mistake.
One more thing, I want to modify the custody. There is no paranting plan, and my son’s mother has custody. I am sure she will agree to split custody and we can work out a parating plan. So there will be not ugly battle in court. Again, I just need to ensure that all paperwork is included, and I need to be led in the right direction.
Any help is possible. I just can’t afford big up front cost, but I can pay, and work out a payment plan. I am sure this is easy work for somone who knows what they are doing.
